Blood Flow Restriction (BFRT)
BFRT is the closest thing to an “exercise pill”! By placing carefully designed bands on the arms and legs, exercise causes fatigue and strengthening results similar to that which occurs with high load resistance training, but with very low weights. The low load weights mean that there is no mechanical strain or damage placed on the muscle (which normally causes soreness and a repair process) and the result is faster strength gains. It is particularly useful post-injury or post-surgery because rehabilitation exercises can be commenced more rapidly than usual.
